Boxing Day Special

I could not care less about Boxing Day, really. But since 2003, it has been a special day which I'll make sure I take time off work for. It's CK's birthday!!

This year, we head down to Hotel Maya's Still Waters for some scrumptious Cantonese style fine dining. I can't say I like them all. But some was sure tasty tasty.

Shark's fins soup with baby abalone & crabmeat

Cantonese fried noodles with lobster (I wish there was more lobster)

Durian crepe (I know this doesn't look like mouth-watering dessert but can't complain about the taste though)

Happenings in Bangsar South

I've stayed in the area around Bangsar South for about 10 years. When I first moved there, Kerinchi was just squatters area with no road linking Pantai Hillpark and Kerinchi. Buildings are growing like mushrooms just this current year and this Kerinchi place near Pantai Panaroma is now called Bangsar South.

Curiousity got the better of me. So last Saturday nite with my sis and hubby in tow, we popped into the Art Village. The first impression of the art pieces was that it was the usual stuff. Most of the paintings were tagged with less than RM500 for the launch of their current exhibition. That was until we went to the top floor. I was impressed by these series of paintings of koi and the other malay motifs. The texture made was not done from the ordinary media and that really caught my attention. Concluded that was the most creative and original paintings of the lot that nite.

As I was happily savouring the chocolate cake, my eyes met those of J-Cent Mu, the artist of the said paintings. He was very down to earth. It turns out that we are from the same hometown. Now, I wish I just have the same talent and start selling my art pieces by the thousands. The raised texture in his paintings are actually from fiberglass. How interesting?? Exploring new media is what makes u tick as an artist. Just very much like Chuah Thean Theng when he started off painting using the batik style. That was a fruitful nite at Bangsar South, not to mention I got to have my dessert for free. Delicieux =)

We also did a tour at the next door Old Town cafe as though it was just another art gallery. Haha.. That was the best layout of old town cafe ever. Mixture of traditional with more modern look to it. Definitely coming back to chill.

Fleur pour moi et toi

I love having flowers in the house. It makes the house feels like home and perks up the place. I feel happy just by looking at them. It may sounds crazy to some but I just love it. Most girls, no matter what their age, would love getting flowers be it on their birthdays or for no special occasions but just as a lovely surprise. For my birthday this year, my dear friend, Chern has send me a bouquet of flowers. I liked it but she was abit pissed as our friend who accidently told me as slip of her tongue and spoiled the surprise. But I'm happy nonetheless Chern. Thanks babe.

So when it comes to my wedding, finding the right hand bouquet was a challenge. Like many brides today, I relied on the net and forum to plan my wedding. I'm basically hooked to The Knot as I just adore the details of all the wedding stuff. And I just love their flower bouquets. They are unlike what we have here. Most of the hand bouquet they pictured are just flowers and not filled up by leaves. I love tulips and it's difficult to get hold of them. And as I like my hand bouquet just being flowers, I decided to make my own. Our wedding theme was "Color me purple" and needless to say, I got purple tulips to go with it. Ta dah!! Here's my hand bouquet, purple tulips, purple roses and 2 tones pink eustoma. Photo taken by our wedding photographer. I also did 3 hand bouquets for my gorgeous bridesmaids, Chern, Mel & Chia Huey. Babes, u rock.
